National Trust

This Land is Your Land

The National Trust manages 22 coastal properties on the Lizard, covering over 2,000 acres (800 hectares). This land includes areas of coastal grassland, heathland, woodland as well as farmland, holiday cottages and car parks.

The Lizard attracts high numbers of visitors during the summer months and some of our sites are popular tourist attractions.  Over fifteen miles of the South West Coast Path run through our properties and in addition to those paths we have provided over eight miles of permissive footpaths.

Our dedicated team of rangers and volunteers work hard to provide exceptional conservation of the Lizard’s unique habitats. We manage the land for its wildlife, for its beautiful landscape and aim to provide enjoyment and access for everyone. To help us achieve this across the Lizard we work in partnership with the local community, farmers and other organisations.
