Butterfly Field Trip to Goonhilly Downs

June 4 @ 11:00 am 3:00 pm

This event is organised by the Cornwall Branch of Butterfly Conservation (CBC) in partnership with The Lizard’s Natural England (NE) team.

Please check CBC’s website and social media for more information; and also check prior to each field trip in case of cancellation due to weather or other complications.

Goonhilly Downs house a significant number of rarer butterflies including Marsh Fritillary, Grayling, Silver-studded Blue, Small Heath and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary. The NE team will lead us to a location in Central Goonhilly where Marsh Fritillary were recorded last year. Meet at Dry Tree car park in the National Nature Reserve (near the Earth Station) on the B3293 St Keverne road (SW730212); W3W magpie.marathons.ticked

Bring a packed lunch, and wellies in case it’s wet underfoot.
