Cornwall Wildlife Trust is a registered charity formed in 1962 by a group of enthusiastic volunteers who were passionate about Cornwall’s natural environment and wanted to safeguard it for future generations. Since its establishment, the Trust has grown substantially thanks to the dedicated efforts of Trustees, staff and volunteers. It is now a highly effective force for wildlife conservation in Cornwall and is widely respected and listened to.

Our vision is for Cornwall to be rich in wildlife, cared for and appreciated by one and all.
Our mission is to rebuild Cornwall’s biodiversity and engage everyone with the natural environment.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust – on the Lizard

Cornwall Wildlife Trust manages two nature reserves on the Lizard, totalling 203 hectares. Windmill Farm (SW 694 153) is a mixture of lowland heathland, hay meadows, arable crops and a variety of open water. There is a small information centre next to the old windmill which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

North Predannack Downs (SW 693 167) is a large area of lowland heathland which is managed alongside parts of the neighbouring airfield.
