Goonhilly Downs: Cornwall Butterfly Conservation field trip

June 8 @ 11:00 am 2:00 pm

This field trip is organised by Cornwall Butterfly Conservation (CBC), and is one of their Cornwall-wide series of visits to different sites and events over the summer. These trips are open to all, including accompanied children – whatever level of experience you have and whether or not you’re a member of Cornwall Butterfly Conservation. Please check the CBC website and social media prior to each field trip in case of cancellation due to weather or other complications.

Join us on an exciting new field trip in partnership with the Natural England (NE) team on The Lizard. Goonhilly Downs house a significant number of our rarer butterflies including Marsh Fritillary, Grayling, Silver-studded Blue, Small Heath and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary. The NE team will lead us to a location in Central Goonhilly where Marsh Fritillary were recorded last year. Meet at Dry Tree car park in the National Nature Reserve (near the Earth Station) on the B3293 St Keverne road (SW730212) W3W magpie.marathons.ticked Bring a packed lunch and wellies in case it’s wet underfoot!

Leaders Duncan Lyne and Ed O’Connor (NE). Contact Sue Allen (0788 4974528)
